The new Tracy McGrady basketball shoes do not have laces. Instead, they have a device that can be tightened to give a snug fit.The snap on the back opens up a compartment that holds the special key to tighten and loosen the shoes. As shown, a handcuff key can be easily concealed inside the compartment. Removal of the special tightening key would allow more space.

Very interesting heads-up regarding fugitive capture body/pat down search's-a handcuff key pocket in a basketball shoe-this emphasizes even more that you or your BEA partner should never never ever take your eye's off of captured fugitive from justice especially when transporting the knucklehead. The things these guys come up with will never cease to amaze me! This is good information to have and I will watch for this now too. Our policy is if a Principal is being transported across state lines he gets a belly chain and shackles. He is thoroughly searched and all personal items are removed; inventoried and placed into a sealed envelope or trap as it is sometimes called and secured out of his reach. We all ways remove and check their shoes for items like cuff keys and razor blades tucked between the tongue and laces.
